A Brand We Love: Pippins Childrenswear

An eco-friendly British brand, Pippins Childrenswear is reinventing the world of denim for kids

With a focus on sustainability, Pippins Childrenswear is made by hand in Britain from repurposed Levi’s jeans that were destined for landfill.

The vintage clothes industry throws away huge volumes of denim every year, when 501s are cut off to make shorts. By reusing and recycling the hardwearing and iconic material, Pippins has created a collection of super-soft jeans and shorts that get better with each wash. Clothing tags are made from 100% cotton t-shirt scraps and the brand doesn’t use any plastic in their packaging, aiming to produce as little waste as possible.

But it’s not only Pippins’ eco credentials that we love. The collection (for little ones aged six months to six years) is a departure from traditional children’s denim that so often looks like it’s been designed for mini adults. Looser fits allow kids to run around and play in comfort and clever turn-ups mean that you’ll get more than one season’s wear out of them. All of the designs are gender-neutral too, so they can be passed down to the next generation of jeans wearers.
