Built from scratch by Ukrainian founder Ilona Andrews, Sleeping Stars is a UK-based, family-owned baby sleepwear brand created by a mum, for mums. What began with one very tired mum looking for better solutions has grown into a fast-growing business on a mission to help little ones and their families sleep both safely and soundly.
After struggling through months of broken sleep with her first child, Ilona Andrews retrained as a certified sleep consultant in 2022 so that she could help her daughter and support other parents facing the same challenges. But when her daughter began to crawl, toddle and move around in a traditional sleeping bag, a new concern emerged: staying warm often meant restricted movement, discomfort and an increased risk of trips and falls.
And so, Sleeping Stars was born. Launched while Ilona was seven months pregnant with her second child, the brand’s standout product is its innovative toddler sleeping suit with legs and built-in socks. Designed as a safer next step on from a baby sleeping bag, it keeps little ones warm and covered through the night while allowing freedom of movement as they start to cruise, toddle and walk around. The range also includes organic cotton baby sleeping bags, all finished in charming, gender-neutral, hand-painted watercolour prints created in collaboration with UK and Ukrainian artists.
Practicality is at the heart of every design. Made from GOTS-certified organic cotton, Sleeping Stars products are washable at 40°C and tumble-dryer friendly because sleepwear should work for real family life. Every detail is informed by Ilona’s professional sleep training, from TOG ratings to fit and comfort.
