I am a mother of two and out of necessity developed a product for my own use after experiencing stressful and sometimes dangerous nappy changes with a turning, squirming baby. I realised there was a wider need for this product after hearing about the struggles other parents/caregivers were experiencing. After four years of design, testing and manufacture, and bringing my amazing mum along for support, I launched The Turning Tot portable anti-roll baby changing mat.
The Turning Tot, is a unique portable baby changing mat, designed to make nappy changes easier for those with active babies/toddlers.
Those who have experienced changing a baby/toddler that is determined to roll over, understand how exhausting and dangerous this can be. I developed The Turning Tot to help overcome this problem, with its combination of a soft padded mat, hidden bamboo under-layer and tactile/comfortable bodice, it helps prevent even the most determined tots turning over. The mat lays completely rigid when in use but is flexible enough to fold or roll into baby changing bags, making it the ultimate travel companion.
The end goal was for The Turning Tot to provide parents/caregivers the freedom to go out and about, knowing that they can change their child in the most stress-free way possible and I can safely say it does exactly that.
I am running this business alongside being a busy mum of two, with my youngest still at home. The response to this product has been incredible with feedback from parents about how they have regained their freedom, making it all worthwhile. Winning this award would be the cherry on the cake in helping recognise all the hard work, evenings and weekends that have been poured into creating a product to help those experiencing this struggle.
