Dame Jacqueline Wilson is joined by illustrator Rachael Dean, (15 Feb) for a celebration of her beloved ‘Sleepovers’ series featuring a live draw-along.
The first Sleepovers book introduces Amy, Bella, Chloe, Daisy, and Emily, best friends at school. Daisy is the newest member and eager to fit in, even though Chloe can be unfriendly at times. The series follows Daisy as she navigates the ups and downs of friendship and family life, while planning and enjoying lots of fun sleepovers.
Wilson’s latest book, The Seaside Sleepover, focuses on Daisy, her sister Lily, and one very naughty dog called Scruff. The sisters dream of a seaside trip. Will they have the holiday of their dreams, and maybe even a seaside sleepover?
Jacqueline Wilson talks about creating the series, publishing a sequel 25 years after the first book, and why sleepovers are so central to the stories. She is joined on stage by illustrator Rachael Dean, who leads a live draw along, bringing characters to life for the audience. A former Children’s Laureate, Wilson is one of Britain’s bestselling children’s authors, known for Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather.
