Insta Mama: Zoe Park aka Rooted With Zoe

Interviews

Chatting motherhood with Zoe Park…

London-based but originally from Essex, Zoe Park lives in the heart of Islington with her partner and their three-year-old twin daughters, Eden and Sienna, with a baby boy due this June. On Instagram at @rooted_with_zoe, she shares a slower, more intentional approach to motherhood, rooted in ritual, nature and finding moments of calm within the pace of city life.

After a PCOS diagnosis and fertility struggles, Zoe’s journey into motherhood began in a whirlwind with the arrival of fraternal twins. Now expecting her third baby, she is approaching this chapter with a deeper sense of trust, and is passionate about informed, empowered choices in the maternal space. Before motherhood, Zoe was a competitive bikini fitness athlete, winning both her category and overall title, a chapter that continues to shape her disciplined and grounded outlook today.

She met her partner, an electronic music producer, label owner and DJ, in a Soho nightclub, an unexpected beginning to their story, and together they are now preparing to become a family of five. Here, she shares more about her journey into motherhood, slow living in the city, and preparing for life with three children.

How has this pregnancy been, especially compared with your first?

I’ve always wanted to be a mother, though after a PCOS diagnosis and fertility struggles, I wasn’t always sure it would happen. Then, unexpectedly, I conceived fraternal twins after releasing two eggs in one cycle, which was a whirlwind way to enter motherhood.

My first pregnancy involved learning everything at once. This one feels gentler; there is more trust in the process and in myself.

I’ve done much more research this time, feel far more confident in my body, and I’ve become more engaged in conversations around informed choices and advocacy in the maternal space. I’ve learned that trust in the body and informed care can sit alongside each other — they’re not opposites.

Baby number three feels like such an exciting new chapter.

Is there anything you’re doing differently this time?

This time I’m preparing as much emotionally and mentally as physically.

I’ve been listening to positive birth stories, exploring hypnobirthing and practising breathwork daily. I’ve also put much more thought into postpartum planning, building a support network and consciously creating a village through family, friends, childcare and, of course, my partner.

Having children already has made me think more deeply about support, adaptation and the transition we’re all making as a family. My partner has really held space for me throughout this pregnancy, and has been so attentive and loving in preparing our daughters for becoming big sisters.

What inspired you to start your Instagram?

I’ve always loved documenting transformative seasons of life, whether that was fitness, plants, or now motherhood.

I started by documenting motherhood; I stayed because of the conversations it opened.

It has always felt like a beautiful space to connect and share. There’s a solidarity in motherhood. We all recognise something in one another, and a community formed very naturally around that.

Over time, it’s become a place not just to share family life and products I genuinely love, but also to share perspectives.

What does slow living mean for you as a family?

Slow living for us isn’t doing less,  it’s paying more attention.

Living in London can often feel like moving at a thousand miles an hour, and family life can amplify that. For me, slow living is about being more mindful in the everyday. It’s protecting space for family time, gardening with my children, walks, stories, little rituals at home.

It’s also about romanticising ordinary things that make life feel good. Exercise, buying flowers, cooking, noticing the seasons.

It’s really about creating calm within the rhythm of real life.

What are your favourite brands or shops right now?

I have a real love for brands that feel thoughtful and beautifully designed.

For home, I love The White Company and anything baby. I’m also drawn to botanical prints and clothing inspired by nature… One Hundred Stars is a favourite, and I’d happily wear everything from Farm Rio.

For me and the children, I love Claude & Co.

And as a family, we’re completely devoted to stories, Julia Donaldson is always top of our list and we return again and again to the wonderful worlds she creates.

How do you balance sharing family life while maintaining privacy?

I try to share from the experience of motherhood, rather than make my children the product.

There’s a lot of intention around what feels intimate versus what feels private, and their dignity is always the priority.

I want what I share to feel authentic, but I’m equally conscious that some things belong just to us.

Are there any parts of Instagram you find tricky?

I’m most interested when social media feels like conversation, not performance.

Like many people online, I think there can be a tension between metrics and meaningful content, and pressure to keep up. I’ve become much less interested in chasing that.

I never want it to stop feeling creative, enjoyable and rooted in connection.

What do you love most about motherhood?

Motherhood has made ordinary life feel sacred. I won’t pretend I find it easy, I’m constantly learning on the job about myself and the little people I’m raising. But the reward of rediscovering the world through their eyes is extraordinary.

It has expanded me in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. What a gift.

And what do you find hard?

What I find hard is often not the children themselves, but the invisible labour surrounding mothering, the mental load, the constant logistics, and the way so much responsibility can quietly sit with women.

I also think mothers can be held to impossible standards: expected to give endlessly, yet often judged when they protect space for their own identity, support or wellbeing.

I’d love to see a different narrative. One where mothers are trusted to make the choices that work for them and their families, without scrutiny.

What are you most looking forward to about being a mum of three?

I’m most looking forward to witnessing who we become as a family of five.

I can’t wait to see our daughters become big sisters, to watch our family grow in a new shape, and to meet this little person who has been growing inside me, and discover who he’ll be.
