A lifelong lover of art and nature, Elizabeth launched the brand from her kitchen table in 2015
with the encouragement of her husband, entrepreneur, Alex Petrides – who now works
alongside her as CEO. They live in a leafy pocket of North London with a village-like feel,
known for its independent shops, creative scene and family-friendly atmosphere. Now a mum of
two (plus the family cockapoo, Lamu), Elizabeth speaks often about balancing motherhood,
creativity and purpose – to create something beautiful while staying rooted in what matters
most.

With a pledge to give 2% of annual sales to wildlife conservation, her brand reflects her deep
connection to nature – and desire to make a positive impact through creative, sustainable
design.

Read on to find out more about her favourite places to hang out with her little ones in North London.

A Favourite Coffee Spot (That Has Enough Space For Buggies)?

Sunday mornings are some of my favourite times with my little ones – for a real treat, we always
love a visit to Beam Cafe. It feels more like stepping inside the home of a stylish friend with all
its beautiful tiling, art work and coffee books – but the atmosphere is so warm, friendly and
welcoming. It’s one of those rare places that really understands families.

My current favourite is their delicious Pain au Chocolat, perfect for sharing with a cappuccino
and babyccino on a recent mummy date with my youngest, Orlando! But they also have a menu
full of things kids actually love; from fluffy pancakes and eggs to classic fish fingers and chips.

A Great Playground Nearby?

Highgate Wood has a really magical feel to it. It’s the most beautiful place to explore, get muddy and play in nature – the playground is fantastic and there’s a little cafe tucked away for parents.

But for me, it’s the surrounding woodlands that make it so special – it’s a setting that really
sparks imagination, like a forest from a fairytale and I love seeing how it changes with each
season.

I also have to make a mention for Sally’s adventure club – she leads guided forest walks with
music, puppets, singing and forest crafts. The children adore her sessions, even in wet or cold
weather. They always come away muddy, happy, and full of stories!

Cool Shops for Little Ones and Grown-Ups?

Niddle Noddle in Crouch End is my go-to, and a real treasure trove – with a wonderfully
whimsical, nostalgic feel. They stock lots of Nordic and European brands and pieces made by
individual makers and crafters, rather than more colourful plastic – which is also great for small
businesses. You can always find something you wouldn’t find anywhere else, and everything
comes so beautifully wrapped.

It’s also a really beautiful space – they always have fantastic illustrations on the windows of
woodland animals, trees, and wildlife, and there’s a bright yellow slide inside so the kids can
play whilst you browse. Perfect for a birthday gift that feels a little more special!

Cultural Places to Go with Kids Nearby?

For a meander on a sunny spring day, top of my list is Kenwood house on Hampstead Heath.
Intriguing art collections, beautiful parkland, and even a little second hand bookshop – there’s
so much to do.

Little Angel Theatre puts on the most wonderfully original and creative puppet shows, we
recently went to see both Me and The Paper Dolls – it’s always such a hit with my children. I’ve
also heard amazing things about the Well Walk theatre – it’s next on my list!

Family-Friendly Favourite Restaurants?

After a stroll on the Heath, I love stopping off at Spaniards Inn. For me, it’s everything an
English pub should be; cosy, brimming with character, with big open fireplaces for the dog to
snooze in front of and a lovely outdoor area that’s great for kids – and perfect for sipping rosé in the summer.

Another favourite of mine is Wells Tavern – warm, relaxed and welcoming. Their Sunday Roast
is a must, and it’s just a short walk to Hampstead Centre for shops, boutiques. Plus, it’s
dog-friendly – so our lovely cockapoo Lamu can join us after a nice walk on the Heath.
