Tried & Tested: Nuna VIAA cabn Compact Stroller Review

We put the Nuna VIAA cabn to the test…

A compact stroller needs to do more than simply fold down small. It needs to be easy to use when you’re juggling a toddler, shopping, coffee and everything else that comes with family life.

We asked Absolutely Mama tester Rosie Bee to put the Nuna VIAA cabn through its paces with her two-year-old son. From navigating busy shops and uneven pavements to getting it in and out of the car one-handed, here’s how she found it in everyday use.

First impressions of the Nuna VIAA cabn

My first impression was that the VIAA cabn feels incredibly sleek and well designed. It has a premium look without feeling overly bulky, and I particularly liked how lightweight it felt when lifting and carrying it.

The design is minimalist, with a simple silhouette and understated branding. The leatherette handle also gives it a smart finish while still feeling comfortable to hold.

How easy is the Nuna VIAA cabn to fold?

One of the biggest things I was looking for was how easy the stroller would be to fold, particularly when juggling a toddler and everything else that comes with leaving the house.

I found the VIAA cabn really straightforward to fold, and it didn’t take long to get the hang of it. It folds down compactly, which made it much easier to fit into the boot of the car and store at home.

For me, this is one of those features that makes a real difference to everyday life. When you’re constantly getting a toddler in and out of the car, you don’t want a stroller that feels like another job to deal with.

Is the VIAA cabn easy to carry?

I was really impressed by how lightweight the VIAA cabn felt. It was easy to lift in and out of the car and carry when needed, which made it particularly useful when we were travelling.

Despite being lightweight, it didn’t feel flimsy. It still felt sturdy and well made when we were out and about.

How does the VIAA cabn handle?

I found the VIAA cabn easy to manoeuvre, both on everyday trips and when navigating busier spaces.

It handled turns and changes of direction smoothly, which was particularly useful when I was pushing my son while also trying to keep an eye on everything going on around us.

The stroller felt comfortable to push and didn’t feel cumbersome, even when we were out for longer periods.

Is the VIAA cabn comfortable for toddlers?

My son seemed very comfortable in the VIAA cabn, including on longer outings.

I liked the overall amount of space and found the seat supportive without feeling restrictive. The canopy was also useful for keeping him protected from the elements when we were out and about.

For everyday toddler adventures, I found it offered a good balance between comfort and practicality.

What is the storage like on the VIAA cabn?

Storage is always something I pay attention to with a stroller because there is inevitably a lot to carry when you have a toddler.

I found the storage space useful for the essentials we needed when we were out, although, as you’d expect from a compact stroller, it isn’t designed to replace a huge shopping basket.

For day-to-day trips, though, it gave me enough space for the things I needed without making the stroller feel bulky.

Is the VIAA cabn suitable for travel?

This is where I think the compact design really comes into its own.

I found the VIAA cabn particularly useful for travelling because it was lightweight, easy to fold and much less cumbersome than some larger strollers I’ve used.

Being able to fold it down quickly made getting through journeys much easier, especially when I was already dealing with luggage and a toddler.

Can you use the VIAA cabn with a car seat?

The VIAA cabn is compatible with the Nuna PIPA series infant car seats, which adds another layer of flexibility for parents who want to use it from the earlier stages.

For me, having the option to create a travel system is particularly useful when you’re looking for a stroller that can adapt as your child grows.

DIs there anything I’d change about the VIAA cabn?

Overall, I found very little I’d change. The things that stood out most to me were how lightweight it was, how easily it folded and how compact it felt when stored.

As with any compact stroller, you are making some compromises compared with a larger full-size model, particularly when it comes to storage. But for the kind of everyday use and travel I was looking for, those compromises felt manageable.

Is the VIAA cabn worth it?

After using the VIAA cabn with my two-year-old, I found it particularly well suited to everyday life when you want something compact, lightweight and easy to handle.

I loved how simple it was to fold and carry, and the compact size made a noticeable difference when storing it at home or putting it into the car.

For travelling, I found the lightweight design especially useful. It gave me the flexibility of having a comfortable stroller for my toddler without feeling like I was lugging around a much larger pushchair.

Overall, the VIAA cabn fitted easily into our everyday routine and made getting out and about feel that little bit simpler.
