Proven to be great for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, Pura’s dermatologically tested, Allergy UK certified nappies are also totally chlorine free (TCF) and made without fragrance, lotion, paragons, natural rubber latex and phthalates.
Ultra soft and breathable, they are enhanced with organic cotton for babies’ comfort with only plant-based materials touching babies’ skin. Pura’s EU EcoLabel accredited nappies are manufactured in a carbon neutral plant, powered by green electricity. Where possible, Pura has replaced non-sustainable materials with lower impact materials such as wood pulp from sustainably managed forests.
Pura is one of the few UK nappy brands to have made the change from plastic film packaging to paper, which is responsibly sourced from sustainably managed forests, which trap carbon as they grow. Around 80% of all paper is recycled in the UK, compared to flexible plastic film, where the percentage is around 8%.
Pura is also working on a solution for the 3 billion disposable nappies that are thrown away annually in the UK. Partnering since 2020, Pura NappiCycle keeps 40 million nappy equivalents out of landfill in Wales annually.
To convince local and central government that this would be a viable solution for nappy waste across the entire UK, Pura is now aiming to recycle 1 million nappy equivalents over 12 months in a Bristol nappy recycling trial, which is free to parents.
