Acorn & Pip

Slaithwaite, Huddersfield | (Also shown in the main image)

Lucy Haslam founded cool kids indie Acorn & Pip whilst on maternity leave in 2015. She has two bricks and mortar stores as well as her online shop. Her main store has a beautiful edit of children’s toys, books clothes, and accessories, whilst her second store stocks children’s shoes. The main shop has become a family-friendly hub for the local community with a cafe serving vegetarian and vegan food and a brilliant children’s play area. Lucy was a children’s educator before launching Acorn & Pip, and her talent for seeing the world through little ones’ eyes is really apparent throughout the whole store. A must visit place where you can shop, refuel, and play.

Niddle Noddle

Crouch End, London

In leafy London neighbourhood Crouch End, Niddle Noddle stocks a beautiful edit of children’s clothing, accessories, books, toys, and homeware. Founders Eilidh and Katrine love to source hard-to-find brands and you’ll find many unique and one-off pieces in their store. Niddle Noddle is worth a visit alone though for the bright yellow slide at the centre of the store, which little ones will delight in whizzing down whilst you browse.

The Little People Store

Holmfirth, Yorkshire

The Little People flagship store just opened its doors in April 2023. The store carries a gorgeous edit of pieces for little ones, including clothing, toys, homeware, and gifts. The space has been thoughtfully designed with a cafe area where you can make a mama-pitstop for coffees, cakes, and pastries. And the best bit? There’s a chill out room at the back of the shop where your little ones can play with toys, and have fun in the ball pool, a reading corner, and more.

Trapeze Kids

Sheffield

Donna Powell founded independent children’s boutique Trapeze Kids in 2016. She stocks a beautiful handpicked edit of children’s clothing, toys, books, and gifts all sourced from ethical and responsible brands. She wanted to make sure her Sheffield-based store was welcoming for families, so she has kids’ drawings on the wall, a vintage desk for colouring in, and a bench out the front – which is the ideal place to draw hopscotch on the pavement.
