Research your destination

Dangerous hiking trails might be off limits, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go exploring as a family.

When planning your adventures, look for parks, nature reserves, and botanical gardens. These will often offer family-friendly amenities like gentle trails, playgrounds, and baby-changing facilities. Check if there’s any child-friendly events happening, like educational trails or forest school activities.

Coastal areas that are accessible by car are also a good option. Search for accessible coastal walks, or just spend the day on the beach studying rock pools, searching for mermaids, and splashing in the surf.

Pack the right essentials

Make sure you’re well-prepared for outdoor adventures by packing essentials such as nappies, wipes, snacks, water, sunscreen, insect repellent, hats, and a first-aid kit.

If you’ll be facing challenging terrain, you might want to opt for a sturdy baby carrier or backpack. However, the right stroller will make the journey more comfortable for both you and your little one.

The new iCandy Peach 7 All-Terrain is brilliant for adventurous families because it offers multi-wheel functionality, allowing parents to choose between three or four wheels. Offering the unparalleled flexibility to tackle any adventure that comes their way.

Engage their senses

Being outdoors offers lots of amazing sensory experiences for little ones. Slow down and observe your surroundings together.

Let your child touch leaves, dig in the dirt, feel different textures, and listen to the sounds of birds and other creatures. Don’t forget to pack a blanket for impromptu picnics and opportunities for your little one to crawl or toddle around freely and safely.

You don’t need to cover a lot of ground for it to be educational and fun, so go at your little one’s pace.

Safety first

Prioritise safety during your adventures by keeping a close eye on your little one at all times. Stay vigilant around bodies of water, steep terrain, and potential hazards such as plants or insects. Make sure you always supervise your child during play.

Dress your child appropriately for the weather. Sturdy boots or wellies, thermal layers, and a puddlesuit are perfect for wet weather.

If sunshine is forecast, make sure you have the right protection. The new iCandy Peach 7 All-Terrain has a multi-functional water repellent and UPF 50+ canopy to shield harmful rays and keep your little one cool.

Time your outing

Consider your child’s routine when planning outdoor activities. Aim for times when they’re well-rested and fed to maximise enjoyment for the whole family.

If your little one is new to outdoor adventures, plan shorter trips to start off with. You can gradually build up to longer (and more ambitious!) outings as you both grow in confidence.

If your little one will be napping on-the-go make sure they have somewhere comfy to sleep. The new iCandy Peach 7 All-Terrain has a spacious, fleece lined carrycot that is so safe it can be used for overnight sleeping. The seat can be reclined one-handed, and has four positions for peaceful snoozing.

Create magical memories

Document your adventures through photos and journaling to create lasting memories for your family.

Your little one could collect natural treasures like leaves, rocks, or feathers to commemorate each outing.

Reflecting on these experiences together can strengthen family bonds and ignite a life-long love of adventure.
