SHOP FOCUS
Cissy Wears
Long recognised as a tastemaker in children’s clothing and lifestyle accessories, Cissy Wears recently moved its base of operations from south of the river to just about the hippest retail spot in London: Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross.
The area is full of amazing restaurants, cafes, institutions and events, meaning that a visit to Cissy Wears can now become part of a proper day out (and we thoroughly recommend you check out the Illustrator’s Museum around the corner if you have little ones in tow).
Stop by the shop in the near future and you’ll find a handpicked selection of babies’ and kids’ clothing from some of the best and most exciting brands in the business, including Fish & Kids, Caramel, Bayiri and Sem Label. Pretty much every piece is covetable, and the shop itself is arranged so artfully as to make browsing an absolute joy.
Aside from apparel, you’ll find a range of design-led home accessories, choice bits of parenting kit (such as Danish brand Bibs’ super cute pacifiers – ideal stocking-fillers) and a superb selection of sustainable (and aesthetically pleasing) toys. In fact, it’s not overstating it to say that you could easily do most of your Christmas shopping here, all in one go.
Of course, if you live further afield you can always access Cissy Wears’ collections online – but the Coal Drops Yard store is an experience in itself. If you’re heading into town for some festive shopping any time soon, make sure it’s on your itinerary.
