Mama reviews Jem + Bea's award winning Jemima Bag
Words Georgia McVeigh
At first glance, Jem + Bea’s Jemima bag took me back to the days when I didn’t have a constant stain of sick down one shoulder, odd socks, and my jumper on back-to-front. So, truth be told, I was rather resentful of the Jemima Bag when my husband first gave it to me as an early Christmas present, because it echoed my former life. How did he expect a full time mother to make use of a designer handbag? How wrong I was, because Jem + Bea’s creation is not a designer handbag, but a nappy bag.
As someone who is notoriously disorganised, the Jemima Bag has been a godsend. Leaps and bounds away from the traditional plastic milk-stained monstrosity, this beautifully crafted tumbled calfskin design can be emptied out for that weekend mini-break and transformed into a day bag that goes with just about any outfit.
It boasts 8 interior pockets, a thermo insulated bottle holder and a padded changing mat to name but a few of its multitude of features. Even better, its surface and lining is entirely water repellent and wipe-clean. It has compartments for just about everything you could possibly want to bring with you, and for the first time since becoming a Mum, I have managed to leave the house without leaving something behind.
The perfect gift for any mother who loves to feel nice while remaining organised, it’s the must-have luxury Christmas gift to find under the tree. I know several non-mums who are spitting with envy at this beautiful design – and I’ve recommended to several husbands who are at a loss for the perfect Christmas gift!
