Founded in 2014 by New Yorker Courtney Klein, Storq is a simple idea, so simple you wonder why nobody else has done it before. The label provides basic pieces designed to see you through pregnancy, from a tiny bump all the way along to 40 weeks, and on into the months after you give birth, when your body is still going through so many changes.

Their website explains: ‘What you wear is not only about how you look, but also how you feel. Pregnancy and parenthood can really throw off your sense of self, and it’s the little things like having clothes that fit and make you feel put together that actually help you get out the door every day. We design pieces that look and feel like what you would normally use and wear, because dammit, you are a human being and having kids does not make you a different person.’

They are simple, chic pieces designed to work seamlessly with your existing wardrobe, filling in the gaps where you’re in need of comfort so you don’t have to compromise on style.

Storq sell purely online, and focus on quality (all their clothes are produced in the US completely sustainably). They use soft, breathable fabrics without seams, and shapes and colours which aren’t dictated by trends, and can be worn at any time of year.

The best idea they had is their bundle, which consists of four wardrobe staples – a simple mid-length dress, leggings, a skirt and a wonderful tank top – and between the four pieces they pretty much provide everything you need to start you off in maternity wear – which are beautifully made and really flattering.
