Partyware pioneers Meri Meri have branched into homeware and soft toys – with predictably desirable results
Words: Helen Baron
Not content with pretty much owning cool partyware, Cheltenham-based Meri Meri recently made a much-anticipated move into homewares and children’s toys – the results of which had many an Instamama lunging for her debit card.
The brand operates as a design studio with one central value: a belief in childhood. That belief runs through everything Meri Meri produces, from its incredible range of themed party accessories, gift packaging and greetings cards to printed bedding, velvet cushions and even cupcake cases – cupcake cases, it has to be said, that are at least as desirable as the treats they will eventually contain.
Our favourite new entry into the Meri Meri catalogue has to be the knitted fabric dolls, each with its own distinct identity. They come in a variety of looks, each as cute, colourful and sweet as birthday cake (as is the Meri Meri way). Even better, you can purchase accessory kits to allow your littles to dress their dollies according to their whims as well as to match them.
The star headdress and cape kit is great for when you want things get a little magical, and the unicorn kit is sure to draw attention when you’re out and about, but best of the lot has to be the pyjamas and bunny dolly kit – cute white cotton ‘jamas and a miniature rabbit dolly for your dolly. Consider your babe’s bedtime ritual officially sorted.
Dolls from £53; dolly dress-up kits from £20.50.
