Brand Focus: Flexa

Words Helen Baron

Every now and then a brand comes along that does what they do so perfectly, you can’t help but desire every item they make. Flexa is one such brand.

Founded in 1972 in Denmark, Flexa specialises in children’s furniture in sturdy yet minimal style – but it’s their new toy range that has really caught our eye (and imagination).

Centred around a wooden shop, kitchen and workbench, each crafted from birch, plywood and MDF, the pieces are painted in muted shades of sage, pigeon-blue and rosebud, and feature a range of matching accessories to help little ones make the most when playing pretend.

Wooden groceries, a dinky cash register and a construction set that can actually be assembled in hundreds of different configurations will keep kids busy and creative for hours on end. And there are even colour-coded aprons for budding cooks, craftsmen and shopkeepers.

Retro charm in a rigorously designed modern package, we’ve already earmarked one of the sets for a centrepiece birthday or Christmas gift. Take a look, and we’re pretty sure you will too… From £24
