British Craftsmanship is at the heart of new girls’ clothing brand Kingdom of Origin
Words: Holly Kirkwood
The idea for Kingdom of Origin was born from a desire to create beautiful clothes for girls, utilising the best of British craftsmanship. Utilising local artisans, and factories which only work within strict ethical boundaries, the brand is based in Leicestershire, and keeping production completely within the UK.
In fact, this already feels like an established brand. Inspiration for the launch collection – the Starlet Collection came from of the British 60’s & 70’s rock ‘n’ roll era – adventure and creativity are key to the pieces, and to the idea of the Kingdom of Origin girl.
The clothes are simple, elegant and of outstanding quality. Ranging from appealing separates, to great summer dresses ideal for weekends or parties, the style is modern, with a touch of nostalgia, and perfect for girls who love racing about and climbing trees just as much as having tea parties and dressing up.
KOO are also sustainable in that they are trying to get beyond producing ‘the latest trend’. The aim is to make pieces with longevity, which can be worn for months and years into the future, as well as passed down to siblings- it’s an idea of making great clothes which don’t go out of fashion.
Here at Absolutely Mama we have fallen hard for the Daisy Dungarees (below) which we wish they did a few sizes up..
The starlet collection is small but perfectly formed, and we can’t wait to see what they do next.
