UK company Joie put family at the core of their offering delivering safe, reliable, practical parenting products. At Absolutely Mama we love a brand that not only looks good but makes life with a baby easy and Joie Finiti does exactly that. The Signature Finiti becomes a full travel system with the addition of the Ramble Carry Cot and i-Level car seat (car seat and infant carrier sold separately). We took them out for a spin and here’s what we thought of them.

The Signature Finiti: travelling in style

The Finiti pushchair itself has a completely lie flat recline – enabling use from birth. The woven fabric material feels comfortable and practical and is available in elegant Eclipse Black, Pine Green and Oyster White. 

There’s the option of an outward or rearward facing seat and it’s easily switched around by sliding each of the buttons on either side and lifting. If we had to be picky, we’d point out that each side does need to be lifted out in-turn – but it really does just take a second!  

The stroller is a really great price point – starting at £400 – and you get a lot of pram for your money. It’s a good all-round size – the seat is big enough to support a growing child (up to 22kg or around 5 years) and it has adjustable handle bars and footrests to make it comfortable for everyone.  

Comfort for baby

It has a magnetic 5 point harness system which is easy to clip in and out of just like a seatbelt, with adjustable straps. With flexible spring technology built into the cushion, the innovative Flex comfort seat has four recline positions – including a complete lie-flat – making it safe from newborn. The swing away bumper bar is really easy to pop in and out and it has a good size hood which can be unzipped to reveal a mesh ventilation panel – perfect for keeping baby and child comfortable all year round. It also has an adjustable calf support with two cosy positions.

Manoeuvrability and breaks

A lightweight pram, the Joie Finiti is very easy to steer. The foam filled rubber tyres are a decent size and are designed to navigate even the roughest rides without too much trouble. You can lock the front wheels into place – a good idea if you find yourself off-roading or on cobbled streets. It also has a very easy to access foot brake, located on the bottom right of the frame.

Accessories

In terms of accessories, you get a lot for your money. Included with the Joie Finiti pushchair is a rain cover, a set of car seat adapters, a travel mug and cup holder, and a really nifty little detachable bag with an additional carry handle to take with you when you’re not using the pram. The bum bag just clips on and off the back of the generous sized shopping basket. We love how they designed this as it totally maximises your use of the basket – by easily allowing essentials to be stowed here rather than a bulky changing bag to carry around underneath the pram.

The fold

With one easy movement the stroller can be folded down and becomes freestanding. Often you get prams which are meant to be easy fold, but in reality when juggling a baby can be a little fiddly. The Joie Finiti does not let you down. Whether the seat is fastened forward or rearward, the pushchair tucks closed and stands ready to store with just a quick tug. And what’s very cool about it is that it can be folded down whether it is parent facing or world facing.

The i-Level Car Seat: safe and comfortable

The adapters are included with the i-Level Car Seat, making it super easy to connect to your stroller. Being able to take the car seat off the stroller frame easily is also great for transitioning brand new babies and sleepy time toddlers to and from the car. This car seat has been designed for safe spines and smooth journeys with the ability to recline to a lie flat position, even when in the base. The material feels soft and luxurious and looks really sleek in Joie’s Eclipse Black colourway. The covers are removable and washable too! Another great feature is that its pretty light at just over 4.5kg, eliminating the need for heavy lifting.

Age range

The car seat can be used from birth up to 85cm or 13kg in the rearward facing direction and has a gorgeous seat insert to ensure the baby’s head is kept snug and safe.

Comfort for baby

Their exclusive Tri-Protect headrest offers three layers of security featuring patented Intelli-Fit foam for ultimate side impact protection and it meets the new i-Size standards. The headrest and harness can be adjusted and the straps can be repositioned to make sure the child stays safely in the seat as they grow. The buckle has an easy 3-point harness clip and the hood can be extended to offer more coverage by unzipping the panel. 

Summary

The Joie Finiti and i-Level are both stand-out products in the market. Practical and functional, the fold mechanism is going to be the reason the Finiti flies off the shelf, coupled with the fact it’s only 11kg in weight – which is pretty light when you’re talking about a full-size pram. 

The i-Level car seat does everything Joie commits to as a brand. It’s top-spec in terms of safety features and the practicality of having the full lie flat recline allows more flexibility in a busy parent’s life.

Joie has definitely put a lot of thought into their Signature collection and both the Finiti Stroller and i-Level Car Seat are innovatively designed.
