Owlet Smart Sock Baby Monitor

If you’re unlucky like me and you’ve suffered from anxiety during pregnancy, birth and beyond, the Owlet could be the perfect product to ease any worries when caring for a newborn baby. Consisting of a special ‘sock’ that perfectly fits your newborn’s foot, access to the app and a glowing ‘base station’ which shines green when all is well – this is any tech lover’s dream when it comes to monitoring baby. According to the website, up to 96% of parents reported having reduced anxiety, leading to greater piece of mind and a better night’s sleep when using the product – which I can well believe. After the birth of my second daughter ended in a stay in the Special Care Baby Unit, I quickly became accustomed to the monitoring of her oxygen levels, and that’s exactly what the Owlet Smart Sock does; tracking the heart rate and oxygen levels whilst your baby sleeps. Some people may feel that this kind of monitoring is overkill. But, if you feel anxious or worried, this is exactly the kind of smart tech that unobtrusively brings peace of mind to caring for your little one. I loved the design of the sock (which stayed put on a wriggly new born foot!) and the base station provided the perfect visual clues that all was well with my baby. Once you’ve connected via your Wi-Fi (it won’t work from tethering a phone unfortunately) the sock, base station and app are good to go, providing clear data updates about your baby’s wellbeing. The Owlet really did make transitioning from my scary stay in the Special Care Baby Unit much less anxious and made newborn sleep feel safe and reassuring. A pricy but well worth it piece of parenting kit – particularly for any first time parents.

A baby rocker is an essential piece of parenting kit for any newborn to hang out in, and you won’t find a more stylish one than the Charlie Crane Levo rocker.
It only took a quick 10 minutes to assemble and the fabric can be easily removed and machine-washed in case of any spills! I love the way it sits stylishly in our home, and is lightweight so it’s easy to move from room to room with baby in tow. The motion is designed to rock softly with your baby, making it a sure favourite relaxing spot!
My newborn enjoys napping in her Levo rocker, the fabric is so soft it’s really comfy for her. And I can pop in and out of the room – safe in the knowledge that she is secured inside with the handy straps.
