InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort is situated within the serenity of Raa Atoll and within close proximity to Hanifaru Bay in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Raa Atoll – providing access to one of the largest feeding grounds of Manta Rays in the world.

The hotel boasts an ultra stylish kids’ club, that little ones won’t mind hanging out in (whilst you sneak off for some relaxation!). Their ‘Planet Trekkers’ programme, for ages 4-12, allows budding marine biologists to explore the wonders of the Indian Ocean through arts, crafts and mini-expeditions. There’s also plenty of activities you can do together as a family, including excursions to Hanifaru Bay, snorkelling, and there’s even the opportunity to adopt your own Manta Ray.

The resort offers not one, but five different kids’ clubs aimed at different age groups – from 6 months, all the way up to 17 years old. And for toddlers, there’s plenty of fun activities including story time, puppet shows, and arts and crafts. Older ones will enjoy going on picnics, exploring the small forest, playing football, and looking for insects.

Families can also visit the organic farm. Nestled in a natural landscape of 231 hectares of palm, olive, and orange trees, sign up for private tour and a cooking class in an open-air kitchen with Chef Khalid. For little ones ages 4+ there’s lots of activities including jewellery making and basket weaving at the Hippy Market, Balearic crafts lessons using repurposed materials from the beach, DJ lessons, and master chef sessions at Nobu and Chambao. For sports-mad minis, there’s also classic pool games, yoga sessions, and or paddleboarding in the bay.

The hotel’s team of childminders is professionally trained and certified, and for younger ones, there’s a babysitter service.

With a beautifully-designed space that looks like Montessori nursery, you won’t mind spending time at Cretan Malia Park’s Little Explorers Kids’ Club. Situated in the resort’s lush gardens, the club has a kitchen space for cooking and baking activities; a play area (which also doubles as an environmental awareness space); and a performance area for dance and theatre.

There’s also a playground and an outdoor area with an organic garden, where little ones can participate in a ‘green programme’ of activities. A separate hut provides a quiet space for kids of all ages to read and relax.

The Design Hotels resort is perfect for families, and this summer there’s a new line up of activities for little ones, including crafts, cooking lessons, games, gardening and lessons related to Crete’s myths and legends.
