Artist Olivia Sewell and founder of much-loved eco-friendly childrenswear brand Organic Zoo Paulina Atkinson have come together to create the cutest print collaboration just in time for Valentine’s Day. We caught up with them both to find out more…

Hi Paulina and Olivia! Thank you so much for talking to us. Your print collaboration is so cute. 

Olivia: Thank you! We had such fun creating it together. 

Paulina: Olivia had sent a friend of mine one of her beautiful Christmas cards which initially sparked an idea to create something together. I enjoy partnering with other independent creatives and a few Organic Zoo collections have featured items from my favourite makers. A little Valentine’s creation felt like a lovely thing to do! 

What was the design process and how did you bring the two brands together? 

Olivia: We started with the text, which was the hardest part! We loved the expression ‘To the moon and back’ and it tied in well with Organic Zoo’s sweet signature moon print. However, it just didn’t feel enough, we’re talking about the indescribable love we have for our babies here. Which is how we came up with ‘A million times’.  We wanted the collaboration to really let both brands shine, so after playing with colour palettes and all sorts of artwork, we had ourselves a great little print! 

Paulina: Organic Zoo’s iconic ‘Midnight’ print became the source of inspiration for this project and Olivia’s unique and playful style brought it to life in such a heartwarming way. I love the illustrative details and little splashes of paprika red from our latest collection. We have so many stylish customers, I just know they will appreciate a print like this in their homes too. 

Paulina, what do you love about Olivia’s style? 

Paulina: There is a great sense of freedom and fun to Olivia’s work – just like at Organic Zoo. 

And Olivia, as a mum of little ones, do you dress them in Organic Zoo? And do you have any favourite pieces from the new collection? 

Olivia: I’ve always loved Organic Zoo and already had a couple of their pieces. So well made, and SO cosy! I’m obsessed with the Paprika Stripes Sweatshirt, and just adore the moon print – it’s so fun and recognisable!

And finally as the print is launching just in time for Valentine’s Day, do either of you have any special plans? 

Olivia: My husband and I have developed a fun little tradition of fish and chips and Champagne every Valentine’s Day! 

Paulina: This year I am lucky to spend Valentine’s in New York. Together with my husband we love exploring neighbourhoods so we don’t have set plans for the day apart from lunch at our favourite Japanese restaurant.
