We had hoped to be shopping for sandals and t-shirts by now, but the showers in the last few weeks have put a pretty sharp stop to that. However, after a winter of being stuck indoors at baby sensory and toddler stay-and-play, we’re not going to let a little bit of rain prevent us from getting outdoors. So, we’ve been hunting down the best rainwear for kids instead. From wellies to rain macs, scroll down to see our edit.
Scandi brands are always our favourite for outerwear, and Liewood are one of the best. They have everything from softshell raincoats for lighter drizzles, to waterproof PU-coated jackets and trousers for heavy rain. Their rain boots are absolutely adorable too. (Also above).
Grech & Co
We love these adorable rain boots from Grech & Co! They are made from eco-friendly natural latex rubber, and won’t fail to brighten up even the most miserable day.
Polarn O. Pyret
Another Scandi favourite, Polarn O. Pyret has a great range of colourful rain wear for little ones. All created with sustainable fibres, the Swedish brand also offers ‘PO.P Repairs’ – a free service to fix zips and broken poppers.
Igor’s short pull on rain boots are easy for little ones to get on themselves. They are also great if your child has a high instep. They come in a lovely muted colour palette of dusky pink, green, and blue – which will go with anything in your little one’s wardrobe.
Grass & Air
Jumping in muddy puddles is a lot more fun in Grass & Air’s colour-changing wellies! Kids will love these – and they will definitely help to encourage little ones who are a bit reluctant about playing in the rain. We love the teddy-lined version for cosy feet on colder days.
You might know MORI for their beautifully soft organic sleepwear, but they also have a great clothing line as well. Easy to store in the buggy for unexpected showers, we love their Packaway Raincoat. It’s made from recycled materials, and has an easy zip fastening. MORI also has a curated collection of other brands, including Grass & Air wellies.
As you might expect from a brand that’s so well-loved for its toys and games, the rainwear collection from Djeco is really playful and fun. The super-cute ponchos and umbrellas all change colour in the rain. We wish they came in adult sizes!
