A changing bag to cart around nappies, wipes, and umpteen outfit changes might not seem like the most exciting purchase. But babies come with so much stuff, it’s something that you’ll definitely use a lot. Once upon a time, changing bags were designed for the baby and definitely not the mum or dad. They had cutesy bunny or ducky designs and came in a putrid array of pastel hues. Thankfully, there’s an amazing selection of ‘cool’ changing bags out there now – and there’s definitely something to suit your style. Practically meets good-looks in our round of the best changing bags below.
The top changing bag brands to know…

Finnsøn
Finnsøn was founded by two mamas and former fashion industry colleagues – Kate and Amy. The design duo know a thing or two about cool-mum style and the brand takes inspiration from Scandinavian design, with minimal, unisex styling and eco-friendly materials.
Designs include everything from sleek quilted pouches to practical backpacks. The RAE Eco Changing Backpack with Changing Mat (above left) is effortlessly cool. The versatile design is perfect for days out and about with baby, but would look equally as stylish if you were to take it to the office. With tonnes of storage space, it’s also a great option if you’re looking for something that will last beyond the baby changing days. We also love the FRIDA Eco Stroller Organiser (above right). This will clip easily to a city stroller and has the ideal amount of space for a change of clothes, wipes, and snacks. The leopard print option is fun and playful, but it also comes in practical black.

Tiba + Marl
Anna Tizard and Lydia Barron, the mama founders behind Tiba + Marl, set out to push the boundaries of changing bag design. Fashion meets function in their stylish collection, which uses high-tech and eco-friendly materials.
Both Anna and Lydia come from a design/retail background, and like to keep an eye on streetwear trends. All of their changing bags have high fashion details – from the chunky zips on their popular lightweight Alto backpack (above) to the woven cross body strap on the luxe quilted Nova shoulder bag.

Studio Noos X Binibamba
A collaboration made in heaven, the Studio Noos X Binibamba ‘Checkerboard Mom Bag’ is as cool as you’d expect. This giant teddy tote can be hung over your stroller handlebar and has all the space you need for mama and baby essentials. We love it because it looks nothing like a changing bag.

The range also includes a super-cool silver ‘stroller shopper’ and a cute white boucle crossbody bag. They also have bags to match with their popular ‘MONDO’ stroller.

KAOS
The KAOS Ransel backpack is made from recycled plastic bottles that are spun into a premium, durable fabric. This eco-friendly bag doesn’t look anything like a traditional changing bag, making it a great option if you want something you’ll be able to use long after the baby changing days. It’s got tonnes of space for all of your essentials, and the best bit is that it’s completely unisex so dads won’t mind carrying it too.

Storksak
Another mum-run brand, Melanie Marshall and Suzi Bergman met on the school run. The pair brainstormed several business ideas before settling on changing bags. A little known fact is that one of their original ideas was a baby sling – hence the name ‘Storksak’.
The brand’s designs aim to bring together functionality and style, and their range covers everything from backpacks, to stroller accessories and hospital bags.
Our favourites from the new collection include the Thea Tote and Compact Changing Bag (above left), a clever 2-in-1 design that gives you lots of options for days with and without baby. We also love the ‘Alyssa’ backpack (above right) – a minimal and elegant style that comes with a matching food bag.

Avery Row
Avery Row’s Baby Changing Bag is made from organic cotton and comes in a range of gender-neutral colours. Open it up and you’ll find that each one is lined with a different signature Avery Row print. A beautiful detail that we’ve come to expect from the stylish baby essentials brand.
Made from durable canvas, it has multiple pockets and plenty of storage for your everyday mama and baby essentials. It also has a detachable shoulder strap.

Liewood at Scandiborn
It comes as no surprise that the Scandinavian makers of beautiful childrenswear, toys, and accessories have a stylish changing bag in their range. We love the minimal Theis Multipurpose Bag fro Liewood, which comes in dad-friendly ‘Classic Navy’.
As practical as it is stylish, it can be used as a hand-held bag, shoulder style, or attached to the pram. The Theis is plenty spacious enough for everything you need with a baby in tow.

Jollien at Soren’s House
We love the super cute Miffy collection from Dutch brand Jollein. This mama pouch is great for storing small essentials such as nipple balm, dummies, and your favourite lipstick on-the-go. Stash it in your changing bag so you can locate these items quickly and easily.
