The Pearly White Club: Review

Words Helen Baron

Each of us will get through nearly 300 disposable toothbrushes (or toothbrush heads) in our lifetime. That’s a truly startling figure when you remember that each of those toothbrushes is most likely made from earth-polluting and decidedly unsustainable plastic.

Enter The Pearly White Club, the UK’s first eco-friendly toothbrush subscription service, which will send you (and your entire family, if you choose) a new toothbrush every six weeks (how often you’re actually meant to switch scrubbers).

Brushes are crafted from sustainably sourced bamboo (no pandas impacted), feature fun colour-coded heads (so you can easily tell them apart) and come in sizes fit for both adults and little ones. The nylon bristles aren’t biodegradable, unfortunately – there’s still no high-quality and environmentally friendly equivalent – but they’re at least made using the fastest-degrading form of nylon currently available.

From £3.99 for a single brush or £32 for a single-brush annual subscription;
