Wet wipes
One of the most common misconceptions is that wet wipes are made of tissue paper and therefore degradable. In fact most wet wipes are made from plastic resins like polyester, polyethylene or polypropylene. Luckily there are alternatives that are made from renewable plant-based materials.

Disposable diapers
Disposable diapers are made from oil-based plastics, most commonly polyethylene or polypropylene. There are ways to reduce your oil-based plastic consumption in this area as well by choosing an eco-friendlier disposable diaper alternative. These alternatives have components where the material is made from a renewable plant-based alternative like e.g. PLA or Bio-Pe.
Tip! Look for disposable diapers that carry certification that adhere to international standards that begin with ASTM, EN or ISO.

Baby care products
To make your little darling’s bath time ritual free from non-renewable plastic it’s easiest to turn towards alternatives that use bottles that aren’t made using oil-based plastics. There are many alternatives that don’t use packaging at all and alternatives that have a packaging that is made from renewable plant-based materials.

Nappy disposal bags
When disposing of your used disposable nappies, remember to use disposable bags that are compostable.
Tip! Nappy disposable bags work well for picking up after your dog as well.

Potty
Potty training can’t be avoided but throwaway plastic potties can. There are models out there that are made from renewable plant-based materials.
