The good-looking, multi-purpose jewellery for babymamas
Words: Holly Kirkwood
Launched in 2013 by mum-of-three and ex-fashion designer Emily Sunderland Sutter, Nibbling jewellery is now a go-to brand for mums looking for pieces which look good, but don’t get pulled apart by straying little fingers.
The pieces in Emily’s range have been designed with both mums and babies in mind: fractious babies often chew on the objects closest to their mouth, so the solution is pretty jewellery which is not only baby proof, but actively helps with feeding, and teething.
Nibbling’s jewellery is high-quality, paediatrician approved and made with 100% non toxic silicone, similar to dummies and teats – which is not only safe, but soft and soothing on babies’ gums, so when babies chew on the plastic it’s soft and safe for them, and can help the teething process along. In addition the necklaces are also great for breastfeeding mums: when babies get to that distracted stage they like to have something to pull on and fiddle with, and these pieces are ideal.
The range has individually designed collections each season; limited edition items launch with specific looks, or needs, in mind. Emily also doesn’t just do necklaces: The latest 2017 collection features pendants for dads, dummy clips, bracelets, teethers, rattles and sensory teethers for children with special needs. They also make a small range of little ‘mini-me’ necklaces for girls aged 3+.
They all make great presents for new mums – or treat yourself. The range of colours means you can match your jewellery to your outfit and make sure you always look that little bit more together: something we’re all keen on!
